Cichlids: (prononced: sick-lid)

South-American

African (Lake Malawi, Lake Tanganyika, Lake Victoria, Madagascar)

North-American

Cichlid care can differs not only on the continent they are from, but also the region. Great care should be used when keeping these beautiful animals as their needs change greatly depending on where they are from.)

 

Live-Bearers:

(Aside from Tetra's, these may be one of the most commonly distributed genus of fresh water fish. Their basic ease of care and brilliant colors, make them a favorite of most tropical fish enthusiast.) Live-Bearers enjoy a slightly higher pH lever then 7.0 and take a small level of aquarium salt in their enviroment.

Labyrinth Fish:

(These fish make are an excellent genus to watch, full of color and personality). Although gouramis can make great community inhabitants, they can be somewhat territorial and should be housed in a large system with plenty of swiming room. Bettas, are a virbrantly colored fish and relatively easy to care for, they must be kept singly.

Characins Tetras/Danios:

(Tetras enjoy a lower pH then most other fish, 6.8. In a stable enviroment with appropiate heating and filtration they will usually thrive and enjoy "schooling" together.)

Cats:

(These "cleaners of the freshwater aquarium" provide a nesessary and fun service to your tank enviroment. Although they will clean you take to the best of their ability they most be provided with an independent food source to sustain them, and do not negate the need for regular water changes and tank cleaning.)

Sharks/Barbs:

(Sharks and Barbs add a alure of motion to an aquarium. Their constant motion catches the eye while adding color to a tank. Care should be taken when adding these carnivores, they can be aggresive and have been known to be "fin-biters

Brackish:

(The Killifish, or sometimes called egg laying carps, are a beautiful group of fish. They all have colorful bodies and enlarged tails. They are generally small, but aggressive tank-mates. They can also be finicky eaters. Please stop in to view our selection.)
