The ferret is an amazingly friendly and curious pet to own.
- Average life span: 6-8 years
- The main colors of ferrets are: Sable, Silver Mitt, and
Albino.
- Diet: consists mainly of standardized ferret food with an occasional treat.

- Care: Ferrets require a lot of attention, although they can be housed
in a cage they MUST be able to have the freedom to explore
and play. They can be litter trained to avoid as much mess as possible.
- Size: a full grown adult ferret weight appox. 3-4 pounds.
- Smell: Many people are often turned away from the idea of owning a ferret
because they have heard many stories of their "smell". Ferrets
have a naturally oily skin that produces a musky odor. This can be control
through use of shampoo products designed specifically for ferrets.
**Please also note, because of the curious nature of ferrets they have been
at times called "thieves". They particularly like shiny things such
as keys and coins and will often hide them in their personal "stash"
site. Care should be take to find where you pet likes to hide their things
to avoid trouble in finding things such as keys latter on.**
